اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيْماً كَثِيْراً
يا نَفْسُ قُوْمِيْ فَارْعَوِيْ وَانْزَجِرِيْ وَفَجْئَةَ الحِمَامِ مِنْهَا فَاحْذَرِيْ
وَلَذَّةَ الدُّنَا جَمِيْعاً فَاهْجُرِ لا سِيَّمَا الهُجُوْعِ وَقْتَ السَّحَرِ
وَلِعِبَادَةِ العَلِيِّ شَمِّرِ إِيَّاكِ وَالإِكْثَارَ مِنْ ذا الغَرَرِ
وَالتَشْكُرِيْ آلاءَهُ لِتَشْكُرِيْ وَلْتَقِفِيْ بِالبَابِ وَالْتَدَّكِرِيْ
فلا يَغُرَّنَّكِ طُوْلُ الحَضَرِ فَسَتُسَافِرِيْنَ كُلَّ السَّفَرِ
لا تَلْتَهِيْ عَنْهُ بِنَيْلِ وَطَرِ أو اكْتِسابِ إِبِلٍ أو بَقَرٍ
ولا بِذِكْرِ البِيْضِ مِثْلَ القَمَرِ نُحُوْرُها تَلْمَعُ مِثْلَ الدُّرَرِ
وَلْتَنْظُرِيْ قَوْلَ النَّبِيِّ الأَطْهَرِ لَوْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ وَبِهِ فَاعْتَبِرِيْ
وَإِنَّ فِي المَوْتِ لَدَى ذِي النَّظَرِيْ لَعِبْرَةٌ تَفُوْقُ كُلَّ العِبَرِ
فَكَمْ نَرَى عَلَى مَمَرِّ العُصُرِ صَاحِبَهُ مُغَيَّباً في المَدَرِ
وَلَيْسَ لِلَّذِيْ أَتَى بِمُخْبِرِ وَهُوَ لَوْ كُلِّمَ جَمُّ الخَبَرِ
وَالقَبْرُ رَوْضَةٌ كَمَا في الخَبَرِ مِنْ جَنَّةٍ أَوْ حُفْرَةٍ مِنْ حُفَرِ
فَلْتَتَزَوَّدِيْ نُفَيْسِ وَاذْكُرِ سُؤَالَ رَبٍّ مالِكٍ مُقْتَدِرِ
فَإِنَّ أُهْبَةَ الفَتَى المُشَمِّرِ نافِعَةٌ لهُ غَداً في المَحْشَرِ
وَمَنْ يُرَى في ذِيْ الدُّنَا ذا بَطَرِ فَسَيُرَى في تِلْكَ ذا تَحَيُّرِ
فَهَذِهِ دَارُ الأَسَى وَالقَذَرِ وصاحِبُ العَقْلِ بِها ذُو كَدَرِ
قَدْ فَازَ فِيْها مُدْمِنٌ لِلسَّهَرِ مُسْتَغْفِرٌ إِلَهَهُ فِي السَّحَرِ
نَسْأَلُ ذا الفَضْلِ الجَزِيْلِ الأَكْبَرِ لُطْفاً بِنَا عِنْدَ جَمِيْعِ الْقَدَرِ
صَلَّى وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى المُطَهَّرِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَنْ حَازَ أَعْلَى مَفْخَرِ
O soul, arise, return and be admonished
Oh alma, levántate, regresa y sé amonestada
and from the suddenness of death protect (yourself)
And forsake all pleasures of the world
y de lo repentino de la muerte protégete (a ti misma)
Y abandona todos los placeres mundanales
especially sleep moments before daybreak
And strive hard in worship of the Exalted One
Especialmente en momentos de sueño antes del amanecer
Y esfuérzate en la adoración del Exaltado
Beware of taking abundantly from the one of deception
And be grateful for his favours, be grateful
Cuídate de tomar abundantemente de aquel poseedor del engaño
Y agradece Sus favores, se agradecido
And stand at the door and reflect
Do not let the length of your residence delude you
Y párate en la puerta y reflexiona
No dejes que la extensión de tu residencia te engañe
for you will have to completely travel
Do not be distracted from it by attaining (your) needs
porque deberás viajar por completo
No te distraigas de ello alcanzando tus necesidades
or acquiring camels and cows
Nor by the mention of women like the moon
o en adquirir camellos y ganado
Ni con la mención de mujeres como la luna
whose necks shine like pearls
Look at the statement of the purest Prophet
cuyos cuellos brillan como las perlas
Detalla la declaración del Profeta más puro
‘If you knew’, and reflect over it
Indeed in death for those of reflection
'Si supieras', y reflexiona sobre ello
De hecho, en la muerte para aquellos de reflexión
is an admonition that surpasses every admonition
How often we see with the passage of time
es una admonición que supera toda advertencia
Cuantas veces vemos con el paso del tiempo
its companion hidden in earth
Nor will it inform the one to who it came
su acompañante escondido en la tierra
Tampoco informará a aquel a quién fue
And it, if spoken to, has much to tell
And the grave is a meadow - as in the narration –
Y, si se le habla, tendría mucho que contar
Y la tumba es un prado, como en la narración,
of Paradise or a pit of the pits (of Hellfire)
So take provision O soul and remember
del Paraíso o un pozo de los pozos (del Fuego del Infierno)
Así que toma provisión, Oh alma y recuerda
the question of an all-Powerful Lord who Owns
For the preparation of a young person who strives
la cuestión de un Señor todopoderoso que posee
Para la preparación de una persona joven que se esfuerza
benefits him tomorrow at the Gathering
And whoever is seen in this world exultant
se beneficiaría mañana en el Encuentro
Y cualquiera que sea visto en este mundo jubiloso
will be seen in that (world) confused
So this is the abode of sorrow and filth
se verá en ese (mundo) confundido
Siendo esta es la morada de la tristeza y la inmundicia
and the possessor of intellect in it is the one who is confused by it
The person who is addicted to sleepless nights is successful in it
y el poseedor de intelecto en ella es el que está confundido por ello
La persona adicta a las noches sin sueño tiene el éxito en ella
asking forgiveness of his God before dawn
We ask the possessor of grace and the greatest gifts
pidiendo perdón a su Dios antes del amanecer
Le pedimos al poseedor de la gracia y de los mejores regalos
for a gentleness with us at all times of decree
May prayers and peace be on the purified one
por una gentileza con nosotros en todo momento de decreto
Que las oraciones y la paz estén sobre el purificado
